    Job Title – Head of Risk & Compliance
    Contract – 10 Month FTC
    Salary – Up to GBP60,000
    Location – Nationwide

    The Role:

    A member of the Group Risk & Compliance Team, supporting the Group Risk & Compliance Director in delivering the team objectives of facilitating the effective and commercial management of business risks.

    – Proactively lead the provision of support and guidance throughout the business, with primary focus on the retail business, in respect of legal and regulatory obligations
    – Drive a strong Risk Management and Compliance culture throughout the business
    Regulatory Risk:

    – Working with team colleagues ensure that all emerging regulation / law is identified, captured and assessed for business impact across all areas, propose changes to process and practice where necessary and communicate the changes to all staff as necessary
    – Leading the team and working with the business to ensure that all processes and practices are implemented correctly
    – Manage and maintain the Method, ensuring that it is up to date and any changes are known to the audience
    – Together with team colleagues act as a contact point for day to day regulatory risk matters arising from the business
    – Lead the capture of all relevant risks, emerging risks, issues, and breaches in the appropriate team log and manage to conclusion, ensuring that all supporting documentation is filed appropriately
    – Manage the regular review and update of all regulatory submissions, ensuring that all returns are accurately completed before the deadline
    – Manage and maintain the accuracy of the data held by the regulator for each Group regulated business

    Business Risk

    – Lead, and act as a strong example of, the risk management culture throughout the business
    – Work with the business to ensure that business risks are appropriately identified, and a consistent, commercial approach is taken to risk management; ensuring always that the business remains within its risk tolerance
    – Ensure that all relevant risks, emerging risks, issues, and breaches are captured in the appropriate log and appropriate corrective and preventative action is taken
    – Work with the business to facilitate improvements to the business risk environment, ensuring actions resulting from Risk & Compliance Monitoring reviews are completed within the defined timescales
    – Represent the Risk & Compliance Team, as required, at management and operational meetings and ensure that regulatory and risk management objectives are raised where required
