    Job Title: Business Development Manager

    Location: London Market  

    Salary: Circa £55,000

    We currently have a great opportunity to appoint an experienced Account Manager who can proactively develop commercially successful relationships with insurance brokers and other intermediaries within the Midlands region.

     

    Responsible for forward planning of virtual and face 2 face appointments to win new business and retain existing business across all product lines.

     

    To be successful you would need to have a proven track record achieving targets in a commercial insurance sales/development role within the UK market. Have a natural ability to build productive long-lasting relationships. Combined with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

     

    • This is a remote, permanent role working Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm.

    Key Accountabilities

     

    • Ensure all action points and follow up work are recorded on CRM and completed within agreed timeframes to offer market leading support to brokers.
    • Engage in regular self-development through the various channels available both internally and externally.
    • Deliver the highest standard of service and support at all times, taking ownership of customer dissatisfaction, utilising all tolls at your disposal in facilitating complaint resolution.
    • Through regular communication build strong working relationships with all internal teams and stakeholders.
    • Work pro-actively with colleagues, in particular the underwriting team to aid the delivery of exceptional service to brokers, effective risk selection and enhanced performance of all accounts.
    • Drives both brokers and internal teams to meet retention and new business targets.
    • Where the need has been identified enforce joint business plans with appropriate brokers to facilitate mutual growth that is beneficial and rewarding to both parties whilst ensuring compliance guidelines are adhered to.
    • Present and host multiple corporate events throughout the year, inviting key decision makers within key partners, whilst adhering to agreed budget levels.
    • Prospecting new partners through all communication channels available, utilising and growing prospect database and CRM pipeline.
    • Ensure all new agency applications are validated and supported in line with company strategy, compliance procedures and Service Level Agreements.
    • Attend Networking functions to maintain established relationships and to open doors for future opportunities.
    • Seek, identify and present business opportunities/books of business/potential new scheme/scheme enhancements to the Head of Underwriting.
    • Identify training needs within your panel of brokers, liaise with Learning & Development to deliver expert product training tailor made to each individual broker to improve efficiency and account performance.
    • Promote the brand, services, products, values and reputation to customers, suppliers and partners through all communication channels available.
    • Regularly identifying and suggesting tactical marketing campaigns to the marketing team whilst meeting all compliance guidelines.
    • Utilisation of social media to promote close working relationships with key partners.
    • Ensure all meetings are documented along with MI performance, notable broker communication is tracked/uploaded to the CRM within 24 hours of visit.
    • Attend monthly meetings at Head Office, present panel performance to fellow team members and engage in team discussions delivering thought provoking idea’s to enhance products and services.
    • Using the MI tools at the disposal, identify performance trends of brokers and products lines, communicating findings in clear concise written reports.
    • Through strong account management obtain real time market and competitor news, sharing valuable information with all relevant internal stakeholders using relevant communication channels, inc Teams.
    • Regular review of broker panel, identifying and communicating poor broker behaviour or breakdown in working relationships and offering suggested course of action.
