    Job Title – Senior Insurance Broker
    Contract – Permanent
    Salary – GBP40,000
    Location – Hertfordshire

    Our client is currently looking for an Account Handler to join the friendly and experienced team within the Retail Division. The role will be based in their Hertfordshire office.

    As an Account Handler, you will be responsible for servicing accounts within the renewals lifecycle process, including but not limited to renewal administration, preparation of presentations to insurers, negotiating premiums with underwriters, processing adjustments and preparing client reports and other documentation.

    Our ideal candidate will have experience of working as an account handler, be able to demonstrate a good understanding of excellent customer service and have skills of negotiation, broking and market awareness. They will also need to ensure standards of service to customers are in accordance to those laid down by the company along with FCA regulatory rules and guidelines.

    Key Responsibilities:

    – Prepare documentation for new clients in relation to their insurance requirements in partnership with Account Executives
    – Obtain renewal terms for existing clients and identify potential alternative quotations before producing presentations for Account Executives.
    – Prepare documentation for existing clients in relation to renewals and mid-term adjustments in partnership with Account Executives
    – Ensure all client details are recorded accurately and entered onto Acturis in a timely fashion
    – Prepare renewal closings from renewal meeting minutes and ensure cover is in place by renewal date
    – Deal with Insurer queries in relation to client policies
    – Assist with client queries on a day to day basis relating to existing policies and liaise with insurers regarding potential changes and new terms for policies
    – Confirm cover with relevant insurers, process policies and chase up outstanding documentation when required
    – Prepare Invoices, Registers and other documentations
    – Deal with account queries and credit control matters highlighting any concerns to account managers in a timely manner
    – Understand and apply fundamental legal and regulatory policy in relation to internal policies and the insurance contract as required
    – Comply with AJG Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for role with specific attention, but not limited to Managing Client information, Whistle Blowing, Treating Customers Fairly

    Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

    – Holding/working towards Dip CII/ desirable
    – Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
    – Knowledge of Property Owners insurance products, services, classes of insurance including underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role capacity
    – Insurance administration experience desirable in a commercial setting
    – Worked to targets within a regulated, measurable framework and achieved SLAs
    – Risk aware in handling customer information
    – Evidence of rapport-building experience
    – Good customer service focus
    – Able to identify potential risk/issues and seek advice/consultation when required
    – Due diligence and process driven to deadlines
    – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    – Good planning and analytical skills
    – Accuracy and attention to detail
    – Takes initiative when assisting team members
    – MS office proficiency
    – Eligible to work in the UK
