    Job Title: Branch Manager

    The Role:

    The Branch Manager role is responsible for supporting the Area Director to develop all line of business from brokers and to drive the profitable growth in your region. You will have responsibility for your regional team of underwriters and will need to work closely with the central existing business teams. This role will report to and work closely with the Area Director.

    Key Responsibilities:

    – Team Management And Leadership
    – Responsible for supporting the Area Director to deliver the budgets in respect of both top line Gross Written Premium and bottom line profit for all lines of business
    – Recruit, develop and motivate a team of highly driven and talented underwriters and personnel
    – Set personal development objectives for the team and take appropriate action against underperformance of any underwriter
    – Coaching and development of all team members focused on both their technical underwriting capability (in partnership with Regional Underwriting Manager) and core sales capability/account management and business development capability
    – Ensure the succession of key roles through the active development of company talent and ensuring appropriate resource
    – Business Planning And Sales Account Management
    – Support the Area Director in the development and implementation of the annual regional business plan, ensuring effective communication of this to the regional team and its execution
    – Management of the regional expenses to ensure they are in line with budget
    – Create an effective pipeline for future business and identify new business growth opportunities
    – Support the Area Director to manage and develop the broker distribution including new appointments, commission levels and service levels all in line with the national strategy
    – Develop joint broker-specific business plans with key accounts

    – Sales Operations
    – Work closely with existing business to deliver priority service to the companys key and supporting brokers
    – Working closely with the Area Director and Operations Manager be responsible for the resource management and service resilience of the branch, whilst also supporting the needs of other area branches if required. Responsibilities will include large renewal, peak period, holiday and training planning
    – Use operational and sales MI to manage the sales process of the branch, drive the activity required to achieve/exceed the branchs sales and service objectives. Key areas include but are not limited to quote turnaround and volumes, outbound and inbound phone metrics and culture and bordereaux management

    – Influence
    – Work closely with the existing business team to ensure alignment with requirements for each broker and the overall strategy
    – Support the Area Director to report to senior management on regional results
    – By operating in a highly visible role you will be the face of the company in the local market to ensure it has an excellent profile
    – Conduct And Compliance
    – Ensure best practice is fed into central operations
    – Process reviews / continuous improvement
    – Support Area Director with Audit Management Process and undertake own monthly audits

    – Person Specification:
    – Proven track record in leading, motivating and developing a team to achieve business results
    – Ability to demonstrate success in sales and negotiation
    – Strong operational experience across sales activities
    – Significant sales and broker development experience
    – Drive, energy, professionalism and common sense
    – Excellent interpersonal skills and to be able to quickly establish credibility in order to develop long lasting relationships with brokers and underwriters
    – Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
    – Experience of managing stakeholders at all levels
