Woodgate & Clark beefs up compliance and risk with senior hire
Woodgate & Clark has hired John Davies as risk and compliance manager, reporting to MD Phil Scarrett.
Davies, a highly experienced compliance and risk professional, started his new role at the beginning of March, and will have overall responsibility for developing and maintaining all aspects of the firm’s policies, procedures and systems to ensure business continuity and regulatory compliance.
Phil Scarrett said: “This is a new role that underlines the growing importance we attach to market leading risk and compliance management at Woodgate & Clark. I was keen to bring together all this activity under a single individual, to create one point of contact within the organisation, and in doing so, it frees others up to focus on their operational activities.
He added: “John is very experienced, including roles in a number of blue chip organisations, including Aviva and Chubb, and will bring the senior level focus we need to continuously improve the way we manage risk in the business.”
John Davies said: “I’m looking forward immensely to this new challenge at Woodgate & Clark. I’ve worked in a variety of different organisations but this is the first time for me in loss adjusting. This new role gives me plenty of scope to develop a high-quality risk and compliance operation to sit alongside Woodgate & Clarks exceptional service proposition.
“The business is in growth mode following the acquisition of Quadra earlier this year, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping Phil and the team meet their long-term strategic ambitions.”
Prior to joining Woodgate & Clark, John was governance, risk and compliance manager with Healthcare International Limited. He spent five years in risk and governance at Aviva Corporate (2010-15). He has also worked at Capita, Chubb and Armour Risk Management.
