Aston Lark announces acquisition of North County Brokers

There’s no standing still for Aston Lark, the Chartered insurance broker backed by Goldman Sachs, as it today announces the acquisition of North County Brokers Ltd.

Established in 1999 and based in Balbriggan in County Dublin, North County Brokers offers independent advice to businesses across a broad range of insurance and risk management services. The company has specialist expertise in a number of sectors including technology and communications, manufacturing, import and distribution, and motor trade.

The company will initially be brought into the Aston Lark Group under Robertson Low, albeit temporarily as Robertson Low and Wright Insurance Brokers will be rebranded as Aston Lark Ireland in April 2021.

Robert Kennedy, Aston Lark Ireland CEO, said: “We are thrilled to welcome North County Brokers into the Aston Lark Group. John and the team have built a great business over the last 20 years, rightly earning a fantastic reputation for their expertise and the service they provide to their clients. This is the start of an exciting journey for Aston Lark in Ireland as we rebrand next month. With further deal announcements imminent, we are on track to realise our ambition of becoming Ireland’s leading independent insurance broker.”

Peter Blanc, Aston Lark Group CEO, added: “I’m delighted to see Rob Kennedy and his team in Ireland complete their first acquisition. We’re backing them to become Ireland’s first choice acquirer of high-quality brokers and I’m really excited to see what they can achieve. We’re very pleased to welcome John and his team to the Aston Lark fold.”

John Horan, North County Brokers Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to now be a part of the Aston Lark Group and look forward to growing and developing our business for the benefit of our customers and staff alike. We feel we share many traits and synergies with the Aston Lark Group and are excited to expand our potential into the future.”
