    Job Title: Portfolio Manager 

    Location: London

    Full/Part Time: Full Time

    Salary: £90,000 per annum 

     


    Purpose of Role:

     

    On behalf of our client, we are happy to be able to be working on one of the most exciting propositions in the market.

     

    This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the Top 10 Lloyds Syndicates. Within this role you will support the Senior Manager in effectively engaging and managing the capital partners of the business, focusing on partner relations and portfolio management.

     

    Lloyds/London Market experience is required for this particular role.

     


    Key responsibilities:

     

    • Lead partner engagement efforts, fostering strong, trusting relationships aligned with company values.
    • Analyse performance trends against plan, collaborating with partners to devise remediation strategies.
    • Support capital partner engagement within Portfolio Underwriting, ensuring delivery on agreed objectives.
    • Develop and refine processes/frameworks for effective communication of capital partner portfolios, adapting as the partner base grows.
    • Facilitate communication of underwriting appetite between the company and capital partners, keeping it updated based on market trends.
    • Identify and report deviations from portfolio plans, providing justifications to management, Underwriting Committee, and capital partners as needed.
    • Prepare necessary materials for capital partners and internal stakeholders.
    • Monitor claims and market conditions to optimize business targeting and adapt to market changes.
    • Oversee broker behaviour monitoring to mitigate anti-selection risks.
    • Assist in developing and implementing business plans and reinsurance strategies for all product lines and partners within the portfolio.
    • Identify and report deviations from portfolio plans, providing justifications to management, Underwriting Committee, and capital partners as needed.

    Experience:

     

    Any of the following are desirable:

    • Experience working in agile environments
    • Understanding of data science approaches
    • Aggregate monitoring experience/knowledge
    • Strong commercial general insurance Lloyd’s/company market experience
    • Strong analytic skills: qualified actuary OR significant experience in technical underwriting
    • Lloyds/London market experience is essential.
    • An analytical mindset.
    • Exceptional communication skills.
    • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
