Job title: Household Account Handler
Salary: £35,000

PURPOSE OF ROLE
Lawes Consulting are working with an independent insurance brokerage who are looking for a dedicated and professional Household Account Handler to join their Personal Lines – Household department. This client-facing role is pivotal in servicing and managing both existing and new insurance policies for a diverse range of clients. The successful candidate will handle various policy types, including High Net Worth, private home (contents and buildings), boats, pets, holiday homes, and personal accident insurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage with clients, guiding them through the sales process with professionalism and expertise
- Research and provide accurate and competitive new quotations tailored to client needs
- Proactively reconnect with former clients and previous enquirers to offer renewal quotations
- Manage the renewal book for existing clients, ensuring timely and efficient policy renewals
- Process renewals and arrange payment, including facilitating finance schemes where required
- Maintain a well-organised and up-to-date diary system to track client interactions and deadlines
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Line Manager, aligned with the nature of this position
DAY-TO-DAY
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their insurance needs and provide tailored solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless policy management and client satisfaction
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and company policies to maintain compliance and deliver exceptional service
- Utilise Microsoft Office tools to manage documentation, quotations, and client records efficiently
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in an insurance broking or client-facing role is highly desirable
- Familiarity with handling High Net Worth and personal insurance policies is advantageous
- Knowledge of FCA protocols, GDPR, and the Data Protection Act is beneficial (training will be provided)
SKILLS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong understanding of insurance broking principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
