    Job title: SME Commercial Insurance Advisor

    Salary: £36,000 DOE

    Location: Wiltshire


    PURPOSE OF ROLE

    Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Advisor to join their office in Wiltshire. The role involves managing a portfolio of SME business, including complex cases, and providing expert advice across a range of commercial insurance products. The position offers a full-time role with a primarily office-based schedule and opportunities for career progression within a growing team.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage a portfolio of SME clients, handling policy reviews and renewals
    • Advise clients on commercial insurance products, including package policies, motor trade, motor fleet, management liability, cargo, and cyber
    • Conduct pre-renewal and market reviews to provide tailored solutions
    • Ensure timely renewals and compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Produce accurate documentation and assist with debt management processes
    • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high service standards and support team objectives

    DAY-TO-DAY

    • Review and renew client policies to ensure coverage and compliance
    • Quote and place a range of commercial insurance products for SME clients
    • Build and maintain strong client and insurer relationships
    • Support and mentor less experienced team members
    • Learn from senior colleagues while contributing to team performance

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of three years’ experience as a Commercial Insurance Advisor
    • Proven experience advising, quoting, and placing a wide range of commercial insurance products
    • Experience handling larger and more complex SME cases with premiums typically ranging from £1,000 to £10,000 or more
    • Background exclusively in personal lines insurance is not suitable for this role

    SKILLS

    • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and underwriting processes
    • Excellent communication, advisory, and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
    • Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organised
    • Attention to detail in documentation and client interactions
    • Willingness to mentor junior colleagues while continuing personal development
