    Job Title – Internal BI Loss Adjuster
    Contract – Permanent
    Location – London
    Salary – GBP70,000 – GBP100,000 


    Our client is now seeking an experienced Claims Consultant to manage and present property damage and business interruption (PDBI) claims on behalf of major national and global corporate clients.

    Acting as the go-to expert in PDBI claims the successful applicant will be responsible for handling significant and complex losses for clients from cradle to grave, demonstrating the value of the companys claims proposition.

    Role Responsibilities:

    – Calculating complex business interruption claims
    – Supporting clients immediately post loss occurrence
    – Attending/leading claims meetings with clients, insurers and legal representatives
    – Challenging insurers, loss adjusters and experts to ensure clients achieve the best possible outcomes
    – Understanding and interpreting PDBI policy language and coverage
    – Working with company producers to enable them to present structured claims consultancy fee proposals to clients
    – Supporting the company Regional Claims Team and wider claims community with advice and training regarding technical issues on PDBI related topics
    – Preparing sector related guidance and ensuring strong communication with appropriate internal stakeholders with respect to key issues in the property damage and business interruption market
    – Developing new products or services as appropriate
    – General product marketing and RFP presentation as required

    Candidate Profile:

    – Applicants must have an established technical skill set in the field of PDBI claims, policy wordings and coverage
    – Candidates will be highly proficient in business interruption claims and be familiar with how to put them together and present them to the market so as to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients
    – Extensive experience in the calculation of complex/high value business interruption claims
    – An understanding of the legal principles and key decisions which underpin PDBI claims
    – An organised and easily understandable approach to the discussion of business interruption claims with clients and internal stakeholders
    – An ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, insurers, adjusters and internal stakeholders
    – A desire to operate with a low level of supervision with responsibility for key aspects of the client relationship, particularly in respect of large loss property damage claims
    – The ability to take responsibility for delivering upon agreed outcomes and developing new business proposals as appropriate
    – Willingness and ability to continue to develop knowledge through formal and informal learning, both internal and external to the company
    – Responsibility for providing general assistance, training and technical support to the wider claims community on PDBI claims process and principle
    – An understanding of regulatory controls and procedures relating to both commercial and retail customers, if applicable
    – A willingness to travel across the UK at short notice as required to assist clients where large losses occur
    – Knowledge of the computer desktop software provided by the company including various Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications
