    Our client is looking for a dynamic individual to be based out of the Northampton office to promote the company’s brand across the Midlands. Ideally this individual might have personal links and therefore some degree of personal network this area, but our primary requirement will be for them to take on the management of an existing book of business, but also to develop new business (which could be across multiple classes of insurance – commercial, estate, HNW/household) and to then manage that book of business. There is a potential management and leadership role within the Northampton office, either in the short or longer term depending upon the profile of the individual.

     

    Job Responsibilities: 

     

    • Our preference is to identify candidates with proven insurance broking experience, but we would be prepared to train a new entrant to the sector if they can demonstrate that they have the desired business gravitas and potential to hit the ground running.
    • We expect the candidate to have the requisite supervisory and management capabilities.
    • For an experienced candidate we would expect a good level of knowledge of a wide range of commercial products and insurers combined with experience in obtaining quotes and placing business.
    • In addition to good organisational skills, we are seeking a well presented individual who is a self-starter, prepared to develop business using their initiative and is then able to provide authoritative guidance and advice to clients.
    • Sound knowledge of FCA requirements within a broking role.
    • Excellent communication and personnel skills.
    • We are a Chartered Insurance Broker and will commit to and fund the training of the successful candidate. We provide an Apprenticeship training programme to facilitate achieving the full range of CII qualifications, from the Certificate to Diploma and then Chartered status.

     

    Key tasks

     

    To achieve any annual sales and business retention targets, as directed by Directors, and to:

     

    • Complete proposals and obtain other documentation within time set out in new business procedures at the start of each new risk
    • Ensure that new business is placed in advance of expiry of previous cover
    • Issue invoices within the timescales set out in our standard operating procedures
    • Ensure that insurance company surveys are carried out within a reasonable time scale
    • Ensure any agreed risk improvements are carried out by the client within the time allocated
    • Report all new business through the authorised channel
    • To give advice on individual leads and assist in preliminary meetings and presentations for large potential clients where the prospects of success are high;
    • Advise and consult with clients as and when any claims arise, liaise with loss adjusters and relevant third parties.

     

    Advantageous Attributes
