Job Title – Enterprise Data Architect

Contract – Permanent

Location – City of London

Salary – £110k – £130k + Package

The Data and Analytics Architect will structure and model all relevant Data & Analytics related priorities in the business transformation program, embedded in a team of cross functional solution architects the Data and Analytics architect will lead the data definitions as well as support the design and engineering of highly appropriate, tightly integrated, flexible and fault-tolerant data repositories and systems with the lens of a consistent end to end data architecture and high data quality.

The data and analytics architect will support data governance in the design of the required governance, management, and operational processes around data quality for the overall data strategy implementation of an integrated and regulatory compliant data ecosystem for company.

• Own the Blueprint and digitalization agenda for a cross-functional team of architects from business and technology
• Create the design of the pillars for Data Governance, Metadata Mgt, MDM, Data Quality, Data Warehousing, Sourcing and Staging of data, BI, Advanced Analytics and R&D in close alignment with business functions and enterprise Information management
• Create and manage the Information Management framework, architecture, processes, and solutions
• Overall responsibility of the technology decisions for the data & analytics platforms
• Responsible for strategic roadmaps that describe the journey to target state for all Data & Analytics domains
• Responsible for implementation of the data quality strategy
• Reviewing third parties’ high-level designs and implementations to ensure quality, coherence, and consistency with Enterprise Data architecture
• Deliver standards & patterns, controls on how to deploy services in a standard & repeatable way
• Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline or demonstrated performance in a work environment. 
• Strong hands-on design, engineering, administration, and implementation of comprehensive systems and architectures in an insurance enterprise, preferred in the London market, are required
• Experience as an enterprise lead in a multinational organization in at least three of the following disciplines:
  • Data Governance – chair or departmental management
  • Metadata Management – Data architecture, lineage, and enterprise data models
  • Master Data Management – Master & reference data and hierarchy management
  • Data Quality – master and transactional data
  • Data Warehousing – global scale enterprise data warehouses
  • Reporting – operations, management, and key metrics
  • Self Service BI
  • Advanced and ad hoc analytics
  • R&D for data and analytics technologies
• Ability to effectively communicate, present and articulate strategies across various audiences especially with non-technical business functions
• Willingness to deep dive into specialty insurance business processes
• Strong drive to get things done in a complex and changing environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
• Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps)
• Ability to estimate the financial impact of technology alternatives in terms of benefit and cost
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of existing, new and emerging technologies that enable and drive new business designs and models
