    Job Title: Insurance – Commercial Account Handler   

    Location: Derbyshire – Home or Office Working
    Package: Circa £35,000

    Purpose of role:

    • To provide a complete Commercial Lines insurance service to existing and potential new customers and to support the Directors and Account Executives in their provision of this

     


    Commercial Lines Policies to be dealt with:

    Commercial Combined, Shops, Offices, Surgeries, Pubs, Restaurants, Hotels, Liabilities, Property Owners, Motor Fleet, Contract Works, Engineering, Professional Indemnity, Legal Expenses, Personal Accident, Events, Group Travel, Directors & Officers, Marine, Goods In Transit, Motor Trade

     


    Key customers:

    • Existing Commercial and connected Personal Lines customers
    • Potential new Commercial and potential new Personal Lines customers

     


    Key responsibilities and objectives:

    • Provide new business quotations and advice for Commercial products
    • Draw clients’ attention to all information pertinent to their insurance, including duty of disclosure, warranties and onerous conditions etc.
    • Make written records of all conversation with clients and/or insurers, or relevant business contacts in accordance with the firm’s procedures
    • Ensure all processes follow the firm’s Practices and Procedures manual
    • Place accepted quotations with the relevant insurer and complete all associated paperwork, computer processes and records
    • Take instructions from and amend clients’ policies and complete all associated paperwork, computer processes and records
    • Provide full support to the Directors and Account Executives in their provision of a Commercial Insurance Service to their clients’
    • Develop and maintain relationships with insurers and product providers
    • Check thoroughly all client documentation prior to dispatch and correct as required
    • Review client requirements at renewal and either invite renewal with their existing insurer or offer an alternative if appropriate and complete all associated paperwork, computer processes and records in good time
    • Control your own diary
    • Assist with answering telephone calls and dealing with counter enquiries
    • Ensure customers’ credit is within agreed Company limits at all times and assist Account Department in securing payment of invoices outstanding beyond normal terms and periods of payment
    • Ensure the supplies of insurance literature are maintained and up-to-date
    • Assist with training as required
    • Any duties that may be required by the Directors in accordance with the nature of the job

     


    Required knowledge and skills:

    • Acturis
    • Knowledge of the key covers and significant terms and conditions of all policies that are recommended
    • Knowledge of the Commercial insurance markets
    • FCA
    • Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)
    • Data Protection
    • Money Laundering
    • Bribery & Corruption
    • Law of Agency
    • Microsoft word & Windows
    • Email and internet

     

    Working hours : 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday Working from Home or Office
