    Job Title – Claims Handler – Insurance
    Contract – Permanent
    Salary – GBP20,000 – GBP22,000
    Location – Manchester
    Industry – Insurance 

    Purpose of the job:

    Working within the Desktop Theft Team you will be providing a telephone based total loss settlement service. With the use of strong verbal and written communication skills you will be responsible for providing professional & concise explanations to customers in regards to the claim procedures, documents and processes. Taking referrals from the validation handlers, you will work to undertake a desktop engineering assessment service using images and a variety of engineering tools and information to agree settlements and a way forwards to getting policyholders back on the road as quickly and easily as possible.
    Experience:
    – You will have a keen interest in the Motor Trade, Motor Engineering and support services
    – You will have an understanding of the Motor Claims processes and systems
    – Strong verbal and written communication skills
    – Highly developed telephone customer service communication skills
    – Ability to effectively negotiate, persuade and influence
    – Deliver difficult messages and remain resilient through tough challenge
    – The ability to utilise multiple key systems and information sources to solve problems and drive decision-making
    Key Responsibilities:
    – Delivering Total Loss settlements in line with department targets
    – Excel against customer service level expectations and taking ownership of all inbound communication
    – Prompt investigation on the ownership of the vehicle
    – Accurate payment to all the stakeholders on the claim
    – Attention to detail on all work done around the total loss aspect of the claim
    – Ensure thorough chronological record keeping of all activity within file claim notes
    – Ensure effective communication to Policyholder of progression, reducing the number of inbound calls
    – Maintain effective diary management to reduce settlement time
    – Expertly assess policy indemnity
    – Identification of fraud indicators
