    Motor Trade Account Handler

    Location: Nottinghamshire
    Full time
    Salary: Circa £40K Some flexible working

     


    The Role:

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Handler to join our clients vibrant and busy Motor Trade team based in Nottinghamshire. This role would suit someone with Motor Trade and Commercial underwriting and account handling experience dealing with new and existing business.

     

    Help develop knowledge and experience under a Delegated Authority schemes. As the business continues to grow, there will be many opportunities to get involved in other exciting projects, expanding your skills along the way, and giving you the ability to grow and develop within your role.

     


    Responsibilities:

    • You will be dealing with account queries and mid-term adjustments in line with agreed delegated underwriting authority guidelines along with some new business processes,
    • You will underwrite / generate terms ensuring they are presented to account executives in a timely manner whilst achieving the necessary rate increases that insurers require,
    • You will deal with account executive and colleagues queries by phone and emails within agreed authority limits,
    • You will be comfortable liaising with insurers and colleagues, dealing with various enquiries that may include understanding & assessing risks and reviewing quotations whilst ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines under the Delegated Authority schemes,
    • You will be responsible for ensuring that the paper files and system records are created for new and existing business and updated following all client contact,
    • You will share responsibility for dealing with any actions attaching to existing clients on mid-term adjustments and claims and will liaise with the other Account Handlers and Account Executives to ensure that service standards are maintained,
    • You will be required to respond to enquiries from clients received by phone, letter, or e-mail in a courteous, helpful manner and ensure that all information required by clients is obtained and communicated,
    • Oversee surveys and risk improvements to ensure these are completed within the necessary timescales
    • You will be required to be organised with your work allocation and prioritise where necessary whilst regularly reporting to your team manager,
    • You will adhere to compliance and regulatory procedures
    • You will complete CPD hours and in-house learning modules in line with company guidelines and CII requirements,

     


    Experience:

    • You will have previous insurance experience (ideally including Motor Trade and Commercial) with a good working knowledge of all classes of business,
    • You will be either working towards or qualified Cert CII,
    • You will have experience of working within a regulated FCA environment (essential),
    • You will be able to understand and implement ‘best practice’ in customer service, compliance systems and processes, and financial management,
    • You will have good experience using bespoke systems and MS Office Including Acturis and/or SSP,
    • You will be able to communicate and work in a pressurised environment, either within a team or individually and be flexible in your approach,
    • You will have excellent communication skills which includes verbal, written, listening and negotiation, having the ability to communicate at all levels,
    • You will be highly driven and positive with attention to details and the ability to multi-task, work independently, under pressure and within a timely manner.
