    Job Title – Aviation Underwriter

    Contract – Permanent

    Salary – £70,000 – £80,000

    Location – London

     


    Your Role:

    To support us on our collective journey to success we are seeking a Aviation Underwriter to join our clients growing team.


    What you’ll do:

    • Underwrite a broad General Aviation portfolio consistent with but not limited to London wholesale market and in line with the current plan.
    • Assist your Head of Class in preparing required information for business plan submissions.
    • Assist your Head of Class in providing any further information needed to obtain approval of the Syndicate Business Plan / Forecast from the Board and Lloyd’s.
    • Understand the Syndicate Business Plan and its constraints at an overview level for the business and in detail for your class.
    • Understand the in-force and proposed reinsurance structures in detail for your class.
    • Underwrite your class of business in accordance with the Syndicate Business Plan and within the terms of your Underwriting Authority
    • Monitor KPI’s and exposures for your class in accordance with the Syndicate Business Plan.
    • Underwrite in accordance with the reinsurance programme for your class, recognizing any limitations or exclusions that may apply.
    • Consider ways to Underwrite &/or innovate that will differentiate whether by business, coverage or operational.

    What we are looking for:

    • Up to date general aviation underwriting experience.
    • Ability to make sound decisions based on data and risk assessment and ability to make a positive impact on the long-term success of the overall business in planning, organisation and development.
    • Good communicator, both verbally and written.
    • ACII qualified or progress towards this accreditation.
    • Working knowledge of the Lloyd’s market would be preferred but not essential.
