    Job Title – Employee Benefits Consultant

    Contract – Permanent

    Salary – £60,000

    Location – Nationwide


    Role:-

    Employee Benefits Consultant required to provide a quality service and a high standard of consultancy support to a portfolio of clients operating across multiple business sectors. The role also involves prospecting and developing new business opportunities with the support of your colleagues. UK wide travel and working outside of normal business hours to support non-UK based clients may be required – and possibly overseas travel.


    Duties:-

    • Negotiating with brokers, studying various insurance proposals by gathering and assessing background information in order to effectively underwrite the risk involved in line with
      company procedures and processes.
    • Deal with new business enquiries within allocated authority level and in accordance with the company’s underwriting guide to enable objectives and targets to be achieved.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Act as a technical referral point for the New Business dept. and other business units ensuring technical expertise are shared.
    • Providing ongoing support and consultancy across all of propositions and services.
    • Managing the renewal process of all lines of business with support from the support team.
    • Identifying new sources of income through cross-sell opportunities
    • Delivering high levels of client service at all times.
    • Identifying and prospecting new client relationships with support from the wider team which leads to achievement of your own personal new business development objectives and targets.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to develop local marketing and events strategy.
    • Developing your own personal network of introducers

    Requirements:-

    • Dip CII/PFS (or working towards) or equivalent
    • Extensive experience in the employee benefits sector in a customer facing consultancy role
    • Previous successful experience of business development in a similar environment – whether a multi-national consultancy or regional/UK based boutique consultancy
    • Expert knowledge of all areas of employee benefits – contract-based DC pensions, healthcare, risk, wellbeing and voluntary benefits, platform, taxation and tax treatment of benefits
    • Experience working with clients to develop their employee benefits offering – including benefits design, communications, and benchmarking
    • Experience in developing and managing internal/external introducers
    • Committed to an ongoing programme of CPD
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
    • Proven ability to engage and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
    • Ability to coach and support colleagues and teams.
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Ability to negotiate with a diverse group of people.
    • High levels of energy, motivation, and initiative – a self-starter.
    • Effective at working as part of a cohesive team.
    • Able to work under pressure and deliver results.
    • Ability to support and coach junior members of the team where required
