    Job Title – Assistant Consultant

    Salary – £30,000 – £40,000

    OVERVIEW

     

    Provide consultancy services to clients on project finance advisory work.


    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

     

    As the Project Finance team at the company develops further, they are now looking to recruit an Assistant.

     

    A consultant who is looking to progress and excel within both an advisory and legal environment.

     

    Involved in a variety of work, you will ideally already be studying for the CII exams, although full support for these studies will be fully supported by the company in order for you to develop your knowledge and abilities quickly.

     

    With training, the type of responsibilities you will be involved in (but not limited to) will include:

    • Provide consultancy advice on insurance requirements for the project through all phases of the loan (construction, operating etc.).
    • Assess and advise clients on insurance requirements and applicable terms and conditions from a lender’s perspective.
    • Assess and advise on local and reinsurance requirements and implications of regulatory restrictions on the lenders.
    • Advice on the commercial availability of insurance and ascertain implications on overall loan requirements.
    • Assist in drafting and negotiation of loan agreements as regards insurance.
    • Review and comment on risk allocation and insurance provisions in relevant contracts (e.g.
    • Construction contracts, Operating and Maintenance contracts, Raw material purchase, and finished product sales contracts).
    • Audit and advice on compliance of loan agreement adherence as regards insurance procured by borrowers.
    • Advise parties on issues as regards compliance or otherwise with loan agreements, and support lenders in finding a resolution.
    • Draft reports to lenders as regards compliance, confirmation of applicability of coverage, and deviations from the loan agreement.
    • In order to fulfill the role, the employee will be required to undertake the following:
    • Responding on RFPs and sending proposals.
    • Review of client engagement contracts.
    • As required, communicate with risk managers, insurance managers, project managers, brokers, lawyers, underwriters, and technical consultants on risk and insurance-related issues of clients.
    • Develop existing and new business opportunities on a worldwide basis.
    • Promote the company at external functions, lectures etc.
    • Prepare client invoices and narratives and assist with accounts as necessary.
    • Provide general support and ad hoc assistance as required.

     

    The candidate should be educated to a degree level and someone who is ambitious and wants to continue growing their career. It is essential that you be organized, proactive, confident, articulate, organized, analytical, and in possession of excellent communication skills. Fluency in another language is desirable but not essential.
