Job Title – Commercial Underwriter

Contract – Permanent 

Salary – £30,000 – £40,000

Location – Bolton – Flexible working is available

A highly regarded name in the market is seeking an experienced P&C Underwriter to join their Bolton underwriting centre, dealing with SME cases on a new or existing business basis. Lines of business include Property, Liability, Commercial Motor and BI.

This role is an excellent opportunity to join a highly engaged, friendly team whose end goal is to underwrite profitable cases.

Responsibilities include:

• Underwrite various lines of commercial insurance across the SME arena
• Develop and deliver profitable growth
• Monitor the overall performance of your book
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers UK wide
• Offer underwriting support across the business where needed
• Depending on experience you may be called upon as a branch referral point for larger, more complex risks
• Assist lower level underwriters on a technical basis

Requirements:

• Commercial underwriting experience is essential – min 2 years
• Good understanding of SME level cases
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Excellent relationship management
• Excellent communication skills
