Motor Fleet Underwriter

Job Title – Motor Fleet Underwriter
Contract – Permanent
Salary –  £35k – £40k 
Location – Manchester

The purpose of the role: 

• Underwrite Fleet Renewals with some new business activity within the companies strategy, appetite and authority limits.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with broker partners and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain and endeavour to exceed the agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
• Involvement in key projects such as account review meetings, portfolio management analysis, updating of underwriting guides, feedback and implementation of audit actions.
• Maintain an accurate audit trail using the companies systems, practices and procedures.
• Support Regional Lead Underwriter and Senior underwriters to deliver the required rate increases and loss ratios across the branch.
• Identify, document and feedback underwriting, pricing and market trends to head underwriters

Must haves:

• A Team Player, who is highly collaborative, empowering and good at establishing and maintaining relationships with brokers and other internal departments. You should have a solid customer service ethos – and continuously and proactively look to improve the quality of service provided to all customers 
• A proven and decisive approach to underwriting Commercial Fleet risks, with a good understanding of the UK Motor Fleet market.
• A detailed understanding of general insurance underwriting principles.
• The ability to work well individually as well as part of a team.
• The ability to organise, prioritise and manage workflow to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Minimum of Cert CII preferred.
