Senior Underwriter – Marine

Job Title – Senior Underwriter – Marine

Contract – Permanent

Salary – £60,000 – £70,000

Location –  Birmingham, Manchester, Maidstone

Industry – Insurance (Underwriting, Marine, Commercial)

A highly regarded insurer is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their Marine team. You will be responsible for the day to day underwriting of both new and existing business to ensure book profitability.

Responsibilities include:

• Underwriting various marine cases both on a new and existing business basis
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and partners
• Be involved in case reviews and DA audits where appropriate
• Act as a referral point within the team for the larger, more complex accounts
• Working on product development with other senior members of the team
• Identifying new relationship opportunities to grow the book

Requirements:

• Experienced marine underwriter (c5 years)
• Have a good understanding of the UK Marine market
• Excellent account management & development skills
• Excellent organisation skills
• Excellent communication skills
